Ep. 96: How is Marvel’s New Ultimate Universe Different?

What is the new Ultimate Marvel Universe? In what ways is it different than the original? After spending 2 episodes building the necessary backstory, today, we’ll discuss how Marvel threw all that out with the bathwater and made something completely different instead. We’ll talk about Jonathan Hickman’s extremely elaborate story “Ultimate Invasion,” his slightly less elaborate “Ultimate Spider-Man”, as well as Peach Momoko’s “Ultimate X-Men.” Also, Zach read “The Ultimates” by Al Ewing, and he’ll discuss how his thoughts about it didn’t change at all after reading it for himself.
